Giveaway Time!

shark pouchIt’s time again for a Sew Mama Sew giveaway. I’m offering a copy of my new e-pattern for a Shark Week Pouch.

Gals, we used to call that time of the month a “visit from Aunt Flo.” Remember? Well, I recently found out the youngin’s are calling it Shark Week. Too funny.

I started to envision this cheeky tampon holder…then I found out about AfriPads, an organization that helps meet feminine hygiene needs in Africa. Blammo–it all came together!

So, now when people purchase the pattern on Craftsy, I donate to AfriPads.

Want to win? Leave me a comment below with what color shark pouch you would make. I’ll pick a random name after 5 p.m. PST on Sunday, May 10 and announce the winner here.

Thanks and Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there.

Hot Off the Press

365 Free Motion Quilting Designs Creative Girlfriends PressLeah Day, Creative Girlfriends Press client and founder of the Free Motion Quilt Project, just released a second edition of her comprehensive guide, 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs.

We helped Leah refresh the look of the book and its cover. New to this edition is a spiral binding that allows the book to lie flat next to the sewing machine.

Inside, readers will find hundreds of quilt designs to inspire their next work of fabric art.

The book will be carried exclusively through quilt shops. For more information, visit Leah’s blog.

It’s Giveaway Day! (OK, Giveaway Week!)

We’re excited to take part in Sew Mama Sew’s Giveaway Day this year.

To celebrate, we’re giving away copies of two of our favorite books: Stupendous Stitching by Carol Ann Waugh and 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs by Leah Day. You’ll love the fiber art techniques Carol teaches and the hundreds of inspiring quilt designs that Leah compiled from her Free Motion Project blog. Thousands of people have enjoyed the Craftsy classes these authors teach online. Creative Girlfriends Press was thrilled to work on their books.

To win, just leave an answer to this question in the comments section below: When you’re buying how-to art and craft books, do you prefer ebooks or printed books?

Thanks for entering! We’ll choose a random post on Monday, Dec. 16. If the winner lives outside the US, we will send him or her ebook versions of the books.

While you’re here, why not sign up for our email newsletter? You’ll receive our free cheat sheet that helps make proofreading almost pain-free.

Happy holidays! Click here to return to Sew Mama Sew.
